Disney’s THE LION KING opens at Tempe’s ASU Gammage this Tuesday. I love this show. It’s  stunning, both visually and musically. The way the animals, which are actually huge puppets, are gracefully manipulated by cast members, is breathtaking. One of my favorite parts comes at the very beginning when Rafiki the mandrill calls the animals to Pride Rock. The animals, very quietly and majestically, walk down the aisles and onto the stage. Those lucky enough to be sitting in aisle seats are truly in for a thrill.

The Oscar®-winning music score by Elton John and Tim Rice is so beautiful and includes songs that have become classics such as “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” and “Circle of Life.”

I love everything about Disney’s THE LION KING. I love that it will be playing at ASU Gammage from October 22-November 8. Now that’s a good long run, but, I wouldn’t wait too long to get tickets because a lot of people love it just as much as I do and tickets are going fast. Purchase tickets on line or call (480) 965-3434.

There are lots of arts and culture events to choose from this week in Tempe. Check out this list. View a complete listing of Tempe events, or call 480-894-8158.
