You’ll find plenty to laugh about practically every day this week at the Tempe Improv, Tempe Center for the Arts and Changing Hands Bookstore. If laughter is the best medicine, then there’s no excuse for feeling lousy this week in Tempe.

The Tempe Improv will host two events this week.  The open mic  on Tuesday  is a great opportunity for those gutsy, aspiring comics to test their metal in front of a live audience.  Then comedian, actor and writer Josh Wolf will take to the Improv’s stage Thursday through Sunday . He’s a regular round table guest and writer on the hit E! series “Chelsea Lately,” as well as a performer on the new E! series “After Lately.” He also recently debuted his latest book, It Takes Balls: Dating Single Moms and Other Confessions from an Unprepared Single Dad.

The Tempe Comedy Concert Series will continue at the Tempe Center for the Arts on Friday with the comedy group Right Wing Left Wing satirizing politics and politicians on both sides of the isle. Later in the evening, more aspiring comics will give it their best shot during the open mic. On Saturday,  Bully Mammoth returns to perform their unique brand of sketch comedy.

Changing Hands Bookstore will also  get into the comedy mode on Friday with the non-profit comedy troupe Off the Cuff . They are know for their interactive, high-energy, family-friendly show created from audience suggestions in the  style of ”Whose Line Is It Anyway?”  And this one’s free.
