With record-breaking heat this week, we could all use a few laughs, preferably in air conditioned comfort, with a tall cool one close at hand. Fortunately, the Tempe Improv can take good care of those needs with two very talented comics: Whitney Cummings and Steve “Short Bus” Krause.
Whitney is a Los Angeles based comedian, actress and writer. You may have seen her in the starring role on the weekly sitcom that bears her first name. She not only starred in NBC’s Whitney, she was also the show’s creator and one of its writers. As a comedian, she recently appeared on the Comedy Central Roast of Joan Rivers, appears regularly on Chelsea Lately, wrote, co-executive produced and performed stand-up on the comedy series Live! Nude! Comedy! for Showtime and is the co-creator of CBS’s Two Broke Girls.
The other comic who will be on stage at The Improv is Steve “Short Bus” Krause, a “sit down” comedian from Phoenix. As the only kid in the school with a disability, Steve began using his humor early on to make new friends. He has worked with comedians such as Russell Peters, Pablo Francisco, Carlos Mencia and many more. Steve and his service dog Kawana are quickly becoming a favorite at clubs and theaters across the country.
So laugh off the heat and head for the Tempe Improv or one of the other great indoor events taking place in Tempe this week. View a complete listing of Tempe events, or call 480-894-8158 for more information.
