For me, the holidays are all about the yummy food! From delicious seasonal menus to festive cocktails – I love it all! It gets me into the holiday spirit despite the fact that the weather is still magnificently beautiful outside in Tempe! Here are some special holiday treats to check out at Tempe restaurants and surrounding areas:

Cowboy Christmas at Rawhide!
Head to Rawhide for a Cowboy Christmas all month long! Bring the family for holiday lights country-western style. Drop off your letter to Santa at Rawhide’s “Delivery to the South Pole” mail box; every kiddy who sends Santa a letter will hear back from Ol’ Saint Nick! Santa and carolers will be strolling through town for holiday fun every Friday, Saturday and Sunday! Get your picture with Santa, and then join him for the nightly tree lighting ceremony. See the spectacular ginger bread houses in the Steakhouse and Sweet Sally’s.  And remember admission and parking at Rawhide are FREE! Winter Heats up at Z’Tejas Southwestern Grill
Stuck in a rut with the chilly weather? Warm up this winter with Z’Tejas’ highly anticipated specialty menu. Available December 4-March 3, Z’Tejas Southwestern Grill has unveiled unique flavors of the season including hearty dishes that will leave you feeling cozy. The new menu also features custom cocktails and a deliciously decadent dessert. Some of the dinner offerings include the Southwester Seafood Skillet, the Southwestern Meatloaf and the Pork Osso Buco. And look no further for fun and festive cocktails such as the Apple Milagro Spicer, Muddy Winter and Red ‘Rita.

Christmas at Rustler’s Rooste
Celebrate the holidays with finger licking good food, live music and dancing at Rustler’s Rooste! On Christmas Eve, the Saloon opens at 4 p.m. and dining begins at 5 p.m. Enjoy live country music from the Peso Dollar Band, 5 – 9 p.m. On Christmas Day, plan your holiday meal get together anytime from 12 noon – 8 p.m. There will be a special holiday menu featuring dishes such as traditional turkey, baked ham, New York steak, prime rib, mesquite grilled salmon and sautéed shrimp. Toys for Beers!  World of Beer Tempe Gives Patrons a Free Local Draft Beer for One New Unwrapped Toy
For one week only starting Monday, December 10th and running through Sunday, December 16th, World of Beer Tempe will buy anyone over the age of 21 who brings in an unwrapped new toy, a free local draft beer. The new unwrapped toys should be purchased for children ages 5-to-18-years old, and will be distributed to kids at the Sunshine Acres Children’s Home. Then join World of Beer Tempe for a toy drive celebration on Sunday, December 16^th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. where craft beer enthusiasts can enjoy some limited release beers and buy a raffle ticket for some one-of-a-kind prizes to benefit kids at the Sunshine Acres Children’s Home in Mesa. 

His & Hers Cocktails for the Holidays at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse
This year, Fleming’s mixologists are offering two distinctive holiday cocktails this year tailored for his and her palate. These are available throughout the month of December. For the ladies, the Haute Holiday is made from one of California’s finest dessert wines, Quady Elysium. We add a splash of St-Germain Elderflower liqueur from France, and top it off with our favorite Italian sparkling wine, Mionetto Prosecco. Guys, your Merry Mint Spice combines the smoothness of Gentleman Jack rare Tenessee whiskey with earthy notes of Vietnamese ginger from Domaine de Canton French liqueur. We add two shots of POM juice for fruit flavor and antioxidant power, and fresh mint to deliver a clean finish.
